Rural Learning & Production Centres
This project, co-ordinated by the "Children’s Fund of Uzbekistan", has brought together representatives from local Makhalla Committees, parents, farmers, officers of labour and education departments, law enforcement bodies, trade unions and journalists to facilitate discussion and better understanding of child labour issues.
We have built a network of Community-Based Learning and Production Centres situated across the country in thirteen rural areas. These centres provide children most at risk of child labour with the skills to find alternative employment through informal education and vocational training in computer literacy and accountancy.
