What documents to provide
The UK Border Agency website provides guidance on the sorts of supporting documents you should submit in support of your visa application.
Why do I need to provide documents to support my application?

Do you check documents?
Yes, the UK Border Agency check documents provided in support of visa applications. You are asked, where possible, to send documents which can be checked by someone else. For example - you should send in your landline telephone bill rather than your mobile telephone bill.
