How do I apply
How to apply for a UK visa in Uzbekistan
British Embassy on-line visa service
The British Embassy recently introduced a new service for travellers who require a visa to enter the United Kingdom - www.visa4uk.fco.gov.uk offers a service where customers can apply for their visa online.
All visa applications and appointments must now be made online. The Embassy no longer accepts hand-written applications.
Visa4UK has so far been introduced in almost 80 countries across the world including Russia, Azerbaijan, Belorussia, Kazakhstan and the Ukraine.
The online service is a better and more efficient service because:
• Customers will be guided through the application process, which means that they cannot inadvertently miss out questions;
• The data is sent electronically and securely to the Embassy;
• Customers can then make an appointment to visit the Embassy to submit their passport, photo, fee and biometrics, at a time that suits them;
• This means no more telephoning for appointments;
• Customers will be sent automatic emails telling the date when their documents have been sent via TNT courier back to them.
How do I apply ?
• Log on to www.visa4UK.fco.gov.uk
• This site directs the customer to a menu where the customer selects the category of application they wish to submit.
• The online application form is straightforward, and logically guides customers through the questions that are relevant to the chosen category of application. For instance, if a customer decides to apply for a visit visa, only questions relevant to that category of application will have to be completed.
• Once the form has been completed, the customer receives an email, notifying them of their unique online reference - beginning GWF……………..
• The email also gives the address of the Embassy where the customer should attend with his printed copy of the application form, supporting documentation and appropriate fee. The actual cost of the application is specified.
How do I book an appointment?
• Once the online application form has been completed, customers are automatically directed to the online appointment page.
• The process is straightforward, and allows customers to choose their appointment time and date, subject to availability.
• Appointments are available from 0900 to 1210 hours, each normal working day.
• Once the appointment has been made, an email is sent to the customer, confirming the time of the appointment and notifying him of his unique appointment reference number.
• Customers should attend in good time for their appointment, bringing with them print outs of the application forms and appointment booking confirmation emails.
Is it safe to transmit personal details online ?
Yes. Data is encrypted and sent over a 128 bit secure encrypted connection
to a server in the UK. It is only accessible to authorised staff.
Accessibility?
• www.visa4uk.fco.gov.uk is accessible from any PC - be it in the home, office, Internet café or any other location where PCs are freely available.
• Additionally, we anticipate that the Uzbek tour operators / agents will continue to offer assistance to their existing clients and hopefully will see this as a means of increasing their involvement in the visa application process.
• The online application form can be filled out in any location, for instance a UK sponsor could complete the form on behalf of a family member. All that we ask is that a customer attends in person and signs the form to confirm its accuracy.
All visa applicants over the age of 5 years, irrespective of nationality, must attend the Visa Section at the British Embassy, Tashkent in person and have their fingerscans and digital photograph taken. Admission to the Visa Section will be strictly by appointment only. Applicants are urged not to arrive too early for their appointment. Those arriving too early will be asked to return not more than 10 minutes before their scheduled appointment. By the same token, late arrivals will not be admitted to the Embassy.
Visitors attending the British Embassy Visa Section are requested not to arrive with large bags, rucksacks etc. All bags must be checked for security reasons and searching of large bags will cause an unnecessary delay. As there is no way of securing these items people attending the Visa Section with large bags may be refused entry.
The British Government introduced biometric data collection (fingerscans and digital photographs) in August 2007 as part of a world-wide biometric identification process, designed to protect an individual’s identity, facilitate future entry to the UK, combat visa fraud and abuse of the UK’s immigration and asylum systems.
The Embassy produces checklists of required documents for visit, student and settlement visas. These allow you to identify which documents to provide in support of your visa application. Applicants should make sure that they have familiarised themselves with the checklist that matches their application type. The checklists can be found on the British Embassy web-site.
Applicants must include full supporting documents with their applications, with English translations where the original document is not in English. These should be submitted along with the application. Please do not fax documents to the visa section unless specifically requested to do so.
We do not interview everyone who applies for a visa. The appointment you make to attend the Visa Section is solely for the purpose of submitting your application form and documents, for paying your fee and for giving your biometric data. The process should not take longer than 10 minutes. You will not be interviewed at this time about your application. In most cases, the Visa Officer will make a decision based solely on your application form and other documents provided. This means that if you do not send us any supporting evidence or if the documents you send us are not comprehensive, it could affect the outcome of your application. Applicants will be notified by telephone if an interview is required.
Please make sure that:
* you have answered clearly all of the required questions on the form(s)
* signed and dated the form(s) where asked
* any supporting documents you show are originals or attested copies
* you make your application in good time, but not normally more than 3 months before you plan to travel, unless you are applying for settlement
* payment is in good condition (we cannot accept old, marked or blemished dollar bills)
If you do not you may be asked to make another appointment to return with your properly completed application.
Applicants will receive their visa decision from the British Embassy Tashkent by TNT International Express Uzbekistan.
