How to apply for a UK visa
Where can I get information?
You can find out whether you need a visa and how to apply through How to apply and Do I need a visa? pages of our website.
You can also phone the Visa Section direct line on telephone number 120 15 16 between 13:30 -16:30 or email at Visa enquiries.
All the information provided is supplied and approved by the UK Border Agency.
Where can I get advice?
If you need help with your application or advice about the UK's immigration rules and requirements, you should seek advice from a qualified immigration adviser. In the UK these are immigration advisers regulated by the Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner or legally qualified professionals regulated by designated professional bodies. Their websites are:
- Law Society of England and Wales
- Law Society of Scotland
- Law Society of Northern Ireland
- Institute of Legal Executives
How do I submit my application?
Customers should use www.visa4UK.fco.gov.uk, the Embassy's on-line visa services website. Find out about our visa application system and required documents on How to apply and What documents to provide pages of this website.
Who decides whether I will get a visa?
In most cases, the Visa Officer will make a decision based solely on your application form and other documents provided. This means that if you do not send us any supporting evidence or if the documents you send us are not comprehensive, it could affect the outcome of your application.
