The British Embassy in UzbekistanThe Press and Public Affairs Section of the British Embassy in Tashkent is responsible for relations with local and international media and for promoting Britain. The Section can offer support to UK journalists covering Uzbekistan and Uzbek journalists wishing to cover UK-related topics. It also liaises with the British Council in organising cultural events and educational programmes.
The Uzbek-British Women's Forum of Culture and Business, entitled "The Pearl of the East", took place in London on 28 October 2009 to discuss the role of women's NGOs in the socio-economic development of society.
HE Mr Anvar Salikhbaev, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, led an official delegation to London on 17 November 2009.
Mr Hartley Booth, Co-Chairman of the Uzbek-British Trade & Investment Council (UBTIC), visited Tashkent from 4-6 November.
